Do you run freestyle classes?

At present we are unable to offer Freestyle sessions. We do hope to reintroduce them in the future.

Do you provide adult classes?

At present we do not run adult classes for over 18's. However our recreational classes are open to all.

How old do gymnasts have to be to join?

Preschool classes are for age 0-5 years and are available through Sport Aberdeen program http://www.sportaberdeen.co.uk Gymnastic sessions are for those attending school (4 ½ to 18 years).

How do I join your classes?

Due to high demand we operate a waiting list system. It is now even easier by using our online Waiting List Application form located on our Contact Us page. Once you have filled in and submitted that is it done. We now only hold your Application details for a year, so it is important if we have been unable to offer a place in that time you must submit another application for the following year. You will receive an allocations letter by email when a space has become available. Please be patient with us, there is a great demand for places and we will endeavour to allocate to the waiting list as soon as they become available.

How long is the waiting list and when will my child be offered a space?

We have accommodation for 256 Recreational places at present. We have 300-600 on our waiting list at any given time looking for a place in one of these sessions. Unfortunately it is difficult to predict when spaces become available, it very much depends on how many existing participants decide to give up their place. On average 6 months + waiting time for a allocation to be offered, this will also be dependent on what class you have applied to attend and how long the waiting list is at the time of your application.

How much are classes?

Our Recreational classes cost £10.00 per hour session. This includes Club subscription/development fee. These fees are payable termly based on an 8 to 12 week term. Annual membership to British Gymnastics for insurance purposes £21.00 (this fee is correct for 2023)
All our Competitive classes have a base rate of £8.00 an hour (subsequent hours work a reduction sliding scale) + club subscription/development fee (increased sliding scale dependent on the amount of hours training per week)
Total monthly fee is worked out on how many weeks and sessions in a year; holidays are already built in and with the added bonus of a minimum of one week free. So once your standing order is in place there is no need to stop it during holiday periods. Annual membership to British Gymnastics for insurance purposes £12.00 - £45.00. (this fee is correct for 2023)
Our class fee’s start at £48 per month for 1.25 hrs per week, gradually increasing to the top end of the scale of £180 for competitive gymnasts training 23.75 hours per week.

What do children wear to the class?

On becoming a member you will receive a Club Handbook, which will outline suitable attire. In general, leotard or shorts/leggings and t-shirt. Bare feet or gymnastic shoes. No loose fitting clothes, buckles or jewellery and long hair to be tied up.

We deliver five progressive competitive pathways which run alongside our talent ID pathway. Our talent ID and competitive pathway selection process is explained in the Club Handbook.

Can I transfers from a different club?

The Club can offer trials and club transfers for competitive gymnasts, which our club endeavours to do amicably under Scottish Gymnastic guidelines. You can enquire regarding this process by getting in touch via our homepage.
